The Perth Amboy Federation/American Federation of Teachers is committed to protecting the rights of teachers and making sure our schools safeguard students’ safety, health and welfare. There is currently an investigation into publicized charges at McGinnis. In this case, our teachers had union representation before they were placed on leave and were immediately put in contact with the union’s lawyer who will continue to advise them. As this is an ongoing investigation, we cannot comment on the specifics of this case, other than to say that we support a fair investigation into this matter and the due process rights of our members to have representation.
